Cozy library with bookshelves, fireplace, and globe, ideal for macroeconomic research.

The AION Library

The AION Library is a long-term project to collate a curated bibliographic online database of books, papers, and primary materials that have meaningfully advanced the understanding, conversation, and debate across finance, geopolitics, psychology, and philosophy.

Finance does not exist in isolation; it is inseparable from political structures, human psychology, and philosophical assumptions about risk, value, and time. Therefore, the primary motivation of the Library has its genesis in the belief that high-quality investment decisions are often grounded in deeper context, longer time horizons, and direct engagement with original ideas, rather than mathematical models and spreadsheets.

The intent is not to assemble an exhaustive archive, but a selective one. Inclusion is based on intellectual durability—works that have shaped frameworks of thought, challenged prevailing assumptions, or provided enduring insight into the forces that govern markets, human behavior, and political systems.

Over time, the Library will be organized thematically—covering areas such as monetary history, debt cycles, empire and statecraft, behavioral decision-making, and the philosophy of uncertainty. Selected works may be accompanied by brief annotations outlining their relevance and implications for contemporary decision-making.

Suggestions from AION's clients are enthusiastically received and should be sent to thelibrarian@aionmacro.com

The AION Librarian

Sir Jacques ('Jack') Twin-Toofington is the Chief Mouser, Library & Archival Risk Control.

Jack serves as AION’s Chief Mouser in the Library, where he oversees rodent mitigation, manuscript supervision, and maintains a disciplined culture of contemplative staring and grooming.

His review process is exacting: every draft is sniffed, sat upon, and occasionally pushed to the floor before publication. He brings deep expertise in shelf reconnaissance, box inspection, and the geopolitical implications of red laser dots. He is skeptical of consensus views, strongly prefers primary sources, regards most human activity as noise, and has never once mistaken a moving tail for a low-conviction signal.

Prior to joining AION, Jack held several senior domestic appointments, most notably Director of Window-Ledge Affairs and Head of Sudden Hallway Acceleration.  He resides in the library, usually on the most important document in the room.

*Jack's candidacy for the CFA ('Certified Feline Analyst') designation has been permanently deferred due to his nap schedule.
